Coil winder

I made a coil-winder out of an old electric sewing machine, and purchased a quantity of Osmor coil-formers and cans from Gilbert's in Anzac Ave. The first few I unfortunately sealed the coils in place on the formers with 'Bees-wax', which slowly softened with the heat build up internaly in the cabinet by the valves etc, and over a period of time the coils slowly moved down on the former, thus de-tuning them in the cans. After working out the problem, I modified the making of the coils by dipping them in 'shellac', and letting it set before assembly and final tuning.

The coil-winding I made from an elecric sewing machine parts (with a plastic Osmor former on it ready to be wound on), at our premises in Queen St, Onehunga.
